We concentrate our duck hunting in Buenos Aires. This province has mile after mile of grain fields, marshes, and potholes, making it a location where many species of duck thrive and migrate to year after year. The species available are: rosy-billed pochard, red shovelers, Brazilian duck, silver teal, speckled teal, cinnamon teal, white-cheeked pintail, yellow-billed pintail, fulvous tree duck, black-bellied tree duck, and widgeon.
Argentina duck hunting begins before dawn. After a delicious breakfast you are driven to ponds that are a short distance away. Hunting is done in blinds either as a single hunter or in pairs. Each blind is setup in advance with decoys, and a bird boy to retrieve the ducks. There is also a supply of drinking water and plenty of shells in the blind.
You return to the ranch for a gourmet lunch with Argentinean wines, beer or beverages of your choice. After a siesta (nap) you are taken out for an afternoon hunt.
Hunting season lasts from May until August, with temperatures between 35 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
